Visa information

Please note that ALL foreign nationals, including American and EU passport holders, must hold a valid visa in order to travel to India. You do not need a visa if you hold an Indian passport or OCI card. All others will need to obtain a conference visa prior to travel to India.

Conference visas must be applied for in advance at an Indian embassy or consulate. To facilitate the granting of visas, we will be collecting some information from you at the time of registration.

If you plan to attend the ITW in person and need a visa, we require that youregister (or, in case of students/postdocs, submit the travel grant application form without registering) before August 29, 2022. You also must fill and submit this form, which collects some information from you that needs to be sent to the relevant ministries for approvals. [Update dated Sept 1, 2022: The visa information submission form is now closed. No further conference visa processing requests can be handled at this stage.]

Once the approvals process is completed (which can take more than a month), we will provide you with the documentation necessary to apply for a conference or e-conference visa. The granting of visas will be a smooth process if all the documentation is in place.

This Indian government website provides you detailed information about the visa application process.

Nationals of certain countries may be eligible for e-conference visas. Information about e-visas is available at this website

Contact info@itw2022.in if you have questions about the visa process.
